Environmental Management System (EMS)

We have voluntarily implemented ISO 14001:2004 since January 2009, which allows us to develop and maintain an effective Environmental Management System, assuring legal compliance and control over significant environmental aspects.

Our EMS includes:

  • Waste Management (solids, liquids)
  • Oil Sludge Management
  • Refrigerant Gases (A/C, Reefers)
  • Electricity Utilization
  • Green Cleaning Materials
  • Prevention of Marine Pollution

Our certification is issued by ClassNK (Nippon Kaiji Kyokai), a world-renowned independent auditing body.

Abbidecglobal has followed the ISM Code since 1997.
Key practices include:

  • A dedicated SMS Department managing ship compliance
  • Regular audits (internal & external) on all vessels
  • NK Class external audits, ensuring highest industry standards

We take strict measures to handle:

  • Ballast Management: In line with MARPOL guidelines
  • Sewage & Gray Water: Treated in onboard systems, with specific zones for collection
  • Bilges & Sludge: Separated, stored, and discharged in authorized facilities

Garbage: Sorted into plastics, paper, food waste, etc. Incineration done onboard when allowed

  • Air Emission Controls:
    • NOx – EIAPP Certified (2002, 17.9 g/kWh)
    • SOx – SECA (Baltic, EU, California) compliant
  • Fuel Changeover (HFO → MDO)
  • Cold Ironing: Infrastructure in place to reduce emissions while docked

Abbidecglobal continues to lead with responsibility, transparency, and a proactive approach toward environmental protection in all port and vessel operations.
